Should I study Development Economics?

I am a highschool senior.

Development economics is a graduate-level subject. So go to college, take a few econ classes, and after you’re done with Intermediate Macro, International Macro, and Economic History, you will have an idea if Development Economics is something you want to study…

You have four more years to decide that:-)
Once you get to college, take some development economics courses as well as courses in other branches of economics. If it really interests you, go for it.

I agree with the 1st answer. In fact, you should probably enroll into a business program that covers all the core courses in the 1st 2 years, and decide during those 2 years where you want to go. Accounting, Mis, Econ, Marketing, Management all these have courses that overlap and it’s a good idea to at least take 1 course in each of these. In know you might not like accounting, but you will learn some finance in econ and you might find you want to go into finance. Just remember that you can wait to choose a major. I would go into econ for sure if I was you, but a solid minor would go good with that, too.
