Why is Erik Eriksons theory on social development important?

Because it shows the questions one asks themselves throughout their lifetime, and shows the reason why one would ask them. It also maps out what is the "norm" and what isn’t in today’s society. It is the essential map of life.

    Because it gives 8 stages that predict the choices a person will make as they develop their personality and confront predictable life obstacles. I’m going to take a guess at them righ tnow, this is with no googling or anything, just for practice:

    Trust v. Mistrust
    something v. autonomy
    industry v. inferiority
    intimacy v. isolation

    generativity v. stagnation

    Oh well, how did I do?
