    I’ve started …
    I’ve started learning C++ by using TheNewBoston (bucky) tutorials and now I can say that I know the basics but I like more to program in python. After 2 years hopefuly I am going to University in a Game Development course and I was wondering which program language I will study there.. and what do I need to do to help myself when that time come.

    I don’t …
    @r3sp3c791

    I don’t know anything about Ruby or C#, but if TheNewlkast thinks that C# is similar to Java, then it’s safe to say that if you learn C++, you shouldn’t have too much trouble learning the others. Most of Java’s syntax comes from C and C++.

  8. TheNewIkast says:

    C++ and C# are NOT …
    C++ and C# are NOT similar.. C++ reminds of Ruby: Easy to learn/write in and with quick results and high performance.. C# is similar to Java. It has more restrictions than C++ and looks almost like Java (when you’re wirting it) and for game development C# is a better choice than C++.. C# has some very cool add-ons for Visual Studio and it is better for creating games in like 3D and so on.. BUT it’s harder to learn.

    I can see that you …
    I can see that you know a lot for it and I am actually interesting in game development. Could u tell me the actuall difference between C++ and C# are they simillar? I am learning C++ right now I hope I didn’t make the wrong choice.. thanks!

  12. suki907 says:

    why not programming …
    why not programming in C++ ?!

    because I still have nightmares about the problems I had back when I was using it. I wish I had started by learning python instead.

    And you’ll always hit walls with game factories, perbuilt controlled environments, things that should be easy/possible, but just aren’t.

  13. bimb89ers says:

    i use dev-c++, its …
    i use dev-c++, its free and GNU. do you now if there are any free c# compilers around?
    support GNU!

  14. TheNewIkast says:

    Well, what I do …
    Well, what I do know as a matter of fact, that C++ has like 5% better performance, & it’s easier to learn BUT it’s not fair to say that C++ is more more known and “popular” ’cause it has been excisting much longer time than C#. But if you wanna go into advanced game programming I would choose C#, but for small first-time “noob” games I would recommend C++, because it’s easier to learn, and because it has a very fair amount of restrictions…

  15. bimb89ers says:

    ive heard that c++ …
    ive heard that c++ is bigger and moor spreadand also, i now morre about c++…

  16. TheNewIkast says:

    Well… I kinda …
    Well… I kinda agree with you.. I woulden’t choose Pygame neither, BUT I woulden’t choose C++ neither! I would choose C#.. C# is so much better..

  17. bimb89ers says:

    why not c++ …
    why not c++ programming.
    im really in to opengl.
    support GNU!!!

    No, gamers are not good. If you think they’re good then you don’t know a good game. However though, some expensive game makers aren’t that bad. But this is the good stuff.
