I don’t really understand why people take it except for the fact the idea of having a ‘baby’ sounds fun.

In high school? Let’s be honest, it teaches you little or nothing. I’m quite sure the whole purpose is just to scare idiot teenagers out of having children too young.
…Although the real reason teenagers get pregnant is generally because the majority (not all) of teen moms don’t have the kind of life-goals (like getting a degree or having a successful degree) that would be rendered nearly impossible by a poorly planned pregnancy.
But it’s difficult for schools to teach goal-setting like that when parents fail, so instead there’s that goofy class.
