i have a really keen sense of smell, i can tell sometimes what people have eaten by smelling them or baked things or…you get the idea. how do i find out if my uncanny sense of smell could help me with a career?

I’m a QC manager in a great fragrance company – i’d look for at least a good sense of smell – you have to be able to differentiate between odours- enthusiasm for the product and industry, IT skills, some experience of lab work and some understanding of chemistry, a sense of humour, great attention for detail, and in the R&D department some understanding of the end application. Be prepared to put in effort and the rewards will come. Its a great industry!

and What are the advantages and disadvantages of these simple models?

because you get a general pathway that’s easy to understand and quick to figure out. then you add all the hard special stuff. kinda like teaching a kid the easy ABCs first, then small words…..
a con is that sometimes, very similar organisms dont have similar development so you might miss stuff and processes by assuming wrongly.

This is a school geography project. It asks about how can natural disasters help a country’s development. I couldn’t find any examples of it. It would be very helpful if someone could find an example.

I’m looking at this from two points of view.

1. Preparedness
Countries that are prone to natural disasters such as earthquakes and hurricanes would need to have systems in place before the disasters to alleviate stress on the existing systems. As such the said countries may invest in better construction practices and materials for constructing buildings which may be used as shelters or even for hospitals. These would have to be inspected and meet certain regulations and standards. Investment may come in the form of advanced communication systems or health care and emergency response procedures.

2. After the diaster
The UN and other government bodies tend to assist countries that are struck by diasasters. Therefore a relationship is fostered which can lead to partnership and business opportunities after the disaster has been fairly resolved. You can check on the united nations’ website or that of UNHCR for examples. Other sources are the IADB, inter-american development bank, or the World Bank.

I did a case study on a kindergartner for one of my classes several years ago. I asked things like family make up (brothers, sisters, etc.); bedtime; family activities; discipline strategies used at home; his/her favorite toys at home; do they read to their child, how often. Anything that will give you some insight on their home life.
